This history was provided by Hazel Louise Walker Byrd. She was 91 years old at the time this information was gathered.
Louella Elizabeth Shipp was the twin sister of Loela Lydia Shipp.
Louella (1138 East 7th St.) lived next door to Elnora Walker (1134 East 7th St.), which would explain how Louella met her future husband, Earnest Thomas Walker.
Louella died one month after Earnest Thomas Walker. At his funeral, she said to his casket when leaving the cemetery, “I’ll be back. I’m not going to leave you by yourself.” Her death record states a possible reason for her death as being peritonitis and septic abortion, but unofficially she refused to eat and drink after the death of her husband.
Lee O Shipp is Leola Lydia Shipp (Colvin) and Lee E Shipp is Louella Elizabeth Shipp (Walker).
