Minda Reed

Minda Reed, MD, MPH, granddaughter of Clara Shipp Harris, was recently nominated by the Young Government Leaders Atlanta Chapter for the YoungGov40 Award for excellence in leadership for professionals under 40 based on her work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She is currently a fellow in the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. She works on opioid overdose prevention strategies.

Arlene Walker

Arlene Walker, granddaughter of Louella Elizabeth Shipp Walker, bought into the Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa franchise. Her store offers quality, therapeutic, and customized massages for relaxation and overall wellness.

Willard Walker

At the White Jacket Affair, Willard Walker, son of Louella Elizabeth Shipp Walker, was presented the First Founders Award from Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity's Lansing Alumni Chapter. The white jacket indicates at least 50 years in the fraternity. Willard has been in the fraternity for 58 years.

Stacey Walker

Stacey Walker, granddaughter of Louella Elizabeth Shipp Walker, participated in the "Center for Financial Advancement Symposium: 10 Powerful Women" at Fisk University in late January. Female Fisk students were inspired, uplifted and informed about life, careers, success and resilience. The 10 Powerful Women spoke about their professional journeys, and attributes to be successful in life. Thirty-one young women plus faculty attended, asked questions and engaged in candid dialogue with the speakers. The other women executives were from Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Quicken, The Mortgage Bankers Association and The Federal Housing Finance Agency. Stacey has worked at Freddie Mac for 26 years, and is currently the Director of Housing Outreach.

Karin Peters

Karin Peters, granddaughter of Clara Shipp Harris, recently began a doctoral program in Counseling Education and Supervision (School Counseling Track) at the University of Akron in Ohio.

Darrian Harris

Darrian Harris, great grandson of Clara Shipp Harris, is a junior at Rutgers University with a double major in Public Health and Sociology. He is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Corey Walker

Corey Walker, great grandson of Louella Elizabeth Shipp Walker, is 18 years of age and in his second semester at Georgia State University. He's on the Dean's List! His major is psychology with a focus on business. His interests include institutional and organizational psychology. Corey is pictured here in gray along with his mother, Deanna, and younger brother, Justin.

Charles Walker IV

Charles Walker IV, great grandson of Minnie Shipp Walker, graduated from high school last year and is currently in his second semester at North Carolina State University. He credits his grandfather, Charles Walker II, with teaching him how to fight and never give up.

Jordan Harris

Jordan Harris, great grandson of Clara Shipp Harris, is a professional dancer with Tokyo Academy in Baton Rouge, LA. He deferred his college admission to Marymount University in NY and hopes to move to LA soon.

Justin Walker

Justin Walker, great grandson of Louella Elizabeth Shipp Walker, is 17 years old and a junior at New Mancester High School. He plays varsity baseball and hopes to attain a baseball scholarship to attend college. Justin is pictured here in red along with his mother, Deanna, and older brother, Corey.

Rachel Peters

Rachel Peters, great granddaughter of Clara Shipp Harris, is a freshman at Copley High School. She is a straight A honor roll student! She plays varsity volleyball and is a member of the USA Jr. Olympic National Volleyball team.

James Cain

James Cain, great grandson of Louella Elizabeth Shipp Walker, proposed to La-Tasha Davis in February. She accepted! Welcome to the family.

Brandon Walker

Brandon Walker, great grandson of Louella Elizabeth Shipp Walker, will wed Contessa Davis in May.

Prayers


Louella Cain

Please lift Louella Cain, daughter of Louella Elizabeth Shipp Walker, in prayer. Following a December surgery, she was in a rehabilitation facility until January. She is now slowly improving and currently living at the home of Harold and Lynda Cain as she recovers.
