2018 Shipp Family Reunion

Intro

When many of us think of Columbus, GA, we think of it as that place where our ancestors are buried. Why? Unfortunately, the majority of today's Shipps have no connection to the city because we did not grow up there.

Let's start thinking of Columbus, GA as that place where our ancestors lived and flourished. For this family reunion, we will return to our family's roots and hear the stories of our family from our family.

Pick Up/Drop Off Location: TBA technically but there will be one Atlanta pick up and drop off and one Columbus pick up and drop off.

For this gathering, we will meet early in the morning in Atlanta, GA at one location to take a charter bus to Columbus. We will then pick up those family members in Columbus from one location upon arrival.

The bus will drive us throughout the city as we visit locations of interest to our elders and listen to their intriguing stories of our family's foundations.

At the day's end, the charter bus will return everyone to the same spot from which they were picked up.

Is food included in the price?
No, food is not included. We will make stops for meals.

Can I sit my child in my lap so I do not have to purchase a ticket for my child?
Yes, if your child is one year old or younger. Otherwise no. Your child must sit in separate seat and you must buy them a separate ticket. This is the charter bus rule.

Will a pick-up be provided from my home?
No, we will board the bus from a single location in Atlanta and Columbus. Everyone is responsible for getting themselves to and from this location.

Is the price different if we are picked up by the bus in Columbus instead of Atlanta?
No, the price is the same. You aren't paying for the distance traveled. You are paying for the seat on the bus.

Can I mail the payment?
Yes, you can mail a cashier's check or money order to Laurie. Click here to send a message to get her address.

Can I pay cash in person before boarding the bus?
No. For the sake of organization and recordkeeping, we are only accepting payments in advance.

Can I make a deposit and pay the rest later?
For a limited time, you can pay online using incremental monthly payments.

Do I need to RSVP?
No. Please pay for your ticket and this will count as your RSVP. If you are not coming, there is no need to do anything.

How do I get a refund?
Unfortunately, this payment is non-refundable. Please do not pay unless you are sure you can attend.
