Nickname:

King Walker I was born into slavery. Therefore, there is no record of him by first and last name before the 1870 census. According to the 1860 slave census, a plantation owner in Chattahoochee County, C. Walker, owned  30 year old male slave. King Walker I would have been 30 years of age at this time. However, slaves were property, not people, so they are listed only by age, race, and gender. Therefore, it cannot be verified whether this slave was King Walker I.

According to Eliza Wiggins (great-granddaughter of King Walker I, granddaughter of King Walker II and aged 85 at time of questioning), King is probably buried in Chattahoochee county.
